From Mary Cantrell:

The Master Gardener State Conference will meet here in our neighborhood on Wednesday, June 3rd. They will be touring the gardens of the houses highlighted below. The MG’s will put out signs for the tour so their members can walk through the neighborhood. The tour schedule is as follows:

June 3
Arrive 8:10 a.m.      Depart 9:15 a.m
Arrive 1:10 p.m.      Depart 2:15 p.m.

There should be 50 people in the morning and another 50 in the afternoon. They will be transported here by bus.

There are two water stations and they will be looking at all the beautiful gardens and homes in The Village.  Our neighborhood is known throughout the city for attractive yards and gardens so the visitors are going to enjoy our entire neighborhood. The Village looks beautiful right now and this much needed rain will only help.

Prior to the event, we ask that you look around and simply make sure our neighborhood looks beautiful. So here are some things you can do:

  • Pick up any trash you might see on the street or near your yard.
  • Mow your yards close to the June 3rd date.
  • Feel free to sit outside and help folks find where they need to go.
  • Close garage doors and make sure the sidewalks are clear. ( we still have some rock problems with our paths)
  • Smile and have a good time!

What a beautiful neighborhood we live in and there are also beautiful people living here! Thanks for Nancy Graddy and Maribeth Garrison for helping organized all of this.
